The station is full of people, and the possible reason might be:

1.  A lot of unemployed people.
2.  A lot of people trying to get free stuff.
3.  A lot of people who do not have cars.
4.  A lot of people who instead of shopping, rather waiting 4 hours to get on the train.

so I cannot how you can relate this to strong economy...

【明報專訊】令大溫市民引領企盼許久的加拿大線終於通車，沿線16個車站從早到晚都排滿慶祝活動及表演，商家向乘客大派禮物，最幸運的乘客之一莫過於9點即到橋港路站(Bridgeport)等候的市民萊希(Linda Leahy)，她搶到頭位，得到河石賭場酒店(RiverRock Casino Resort)送出的酒店食宿大禮，價值約一千元。

包括省政府、溫哥華和列治文市政府、機場和運輸聯線，昨天各自安排多項活動，亦有大型商場加入，從中國傳統舞獅、西洋搖滾樂表演及各項抽獎，連平時只有在史丹利公園週邊道路才見到的觀光馬車，昨日也出現在蘭士登站(Lansdowne)免費載運市民，市民一路搭乘免費列車再轉馬車，大呼過癮！

在橋港路站，河石賭場為了從橋港路站排隊上車的第一名乘客，準備價值一千元住宿該酒店的大禮，經過事前宣傳，但似乎知道的市民並不是太多，萊希則很幸運從報上看到這個消息，昨日早上9點就去排隊，她認為也不是太早，沒想到在11點時，她已被告知，是大獎的得獎人，她覺得自己實在太幸運了。

在列治文站(Richmond-Brighouse)，市長馬保定主持舞獅點睛儀式，以華裔市民最熟悉的舞獅慶祝加拿大線通車，在蘭士登站，除了有派發具有紀念意義的加拿大線護照外，還出現了只有在溫市史丹利公園才可見到的觀光馬車。

司機說，馬車只有昨日為了慶祝通車，才免費提供搭乘加拿大線市民搭乘一天，今天開始，列治文即不會再有觀光馬車，要坐馬車必須到史丹利公園才行。

在溫哥華市的百老匯-市政廳站(Broadway-City Hall)站，溫哥華市長羅品信主持通車典禮後，現場有搖滾樂隊表演懷舊歌曲，熱鬧非凡。
