Can you next time make up a story to sound a little more real?  The story you told is almost identical to another story I saw somewhere else, but that one is just a 笑話 story.

Only ignorants would deny the truth, even Youtube  have 100+ clips from restaurant's  security video archives,
some  bored  cooks  do  all sorts of silly things at graveyard shrift, my French hotel  chef friend told me that he used to pee in the
large(100 gallons) steam  jacket kettle  making out in the pantry,  drank up the cognac from the Maitre D.Hotel's
flamblee cart and replaced with tea etc.  
Once  when I was dining in a high end Chinese restaurant, the waiter tripped and the full plate of panfried shrimps flipped
on his waist, he was such a cool guy, turned around to ease the food back onto the plate, wiped the rim of the plate  with his thumb,
and proceeded to served it to the customer.
Another case in a famous steakhouse in Granville Island, they have hand-carved prime rib on the carving cart in the dining room,
a Homer walked in, grabbed the beef and ran, the waiters  hit  him, he threw the beef onto the floor and left .
Guest what happened? the waiter put the  "Peppered" prime rib back to the carving cart, in the presence of 20+stunned  customers.

Once I was in the washroom of a Japanese restaurant, the sushi chef(he was cursing in Japanese) stomped out from the partition
and returned to work without washing his hands! I left the place with my friends before the food arrived and never return  to that
restaurant again.
I've witnessed hundreds of  bizarre  cases in the past 40 years, and seen why restaurants got closed down by Health Authority.
If anyone bother to surf the Foodinspectionweb.ca , it is amazing that so many cases stating that  dim sums and Hot Pot ingredients
are contaminated with feces, that is, the cooks did not wash their hands before commencing food preparation after using the bathroom.
I stated the facts, and it is up to anyone to believe. Go and ask some experience cooks and waiters and you will  learn more everyday.
