I think it's no need to put an equal sign between chinese root and chinese govt. If you are ashame of the chinese government (because the no human right, lack of justice etc..) it's fine, but doesn't mean you are ashame of chinese root IMO.

I will certainly continue to be proud of my Chinese root and so do my children.
We do our small part to help China grow and improve even though it is insignificant if we want to be able to witness China become a truly democratic country one day.
I can only feel pity for you that you only 怨天尤人 and feel sorry for being a Chinese.
P.S. - if you want to find out more about 人性醜惡 in western world, please look up the history book (including 近代歷史 and 時事). I really feel pity for you.
