gas is exempt from this tax and the carbon tax is already silently added to us months ago. Didn't you see the price of future oil is around 75 dollars for quite some time and the gas price never drops. Those who line up on 30 June is stupid. Do you really believe gas company will start to add the carbon tax on 1st July?

I only fill up when I see the price is lower on that day. On Jun 30 it's actually 113.0 which is pretty low these days.
I did fill up in Point Roberts once a while even months ago.
20 minutes a trip is not too much of a commute.

twenty mins @ 90Km/hr = 30km which means about 3 liters of gas if your car is about 10Km/liter. If your car is so fuel efficient. let say only 2 liters for 30 Km. You have to save more than 2 dollars for a single trip. If you have to come back from Pt Roberts, another 30Km. You do the math

Of course I did the math.
One way = 20KM, so total of 40KM.
So assume gas required is $4.
Gas down there is around $0.30 difference. (9x.9 vs 12x.9 here - both supreme). It's almost 30% difference. Let's say I fill up 50L, I can save at least $15, minus my $4 gas to get there, still save around $10 each tank.
