coach bus is always one of the hardest environment for any kind of insertion.
tight isle to walk for a officer with a assault rifle and/or a shield
and many chairs for cover and hiding spot.

If the gunner is planning to die, I consider lucky to see them escort just one person out.

I have read a few hostage incident reports. I believe it is best to wait it out for another two days.
starve them to a certain point and then go in disguise as a food delivery person.

but then this is an international incident, the police chief had a lot of pressure to have to finish off asap.

I am sure snipers could have finish the job earlier if they didn't have to wait until last moment to shoot.
The gunman was releasing some hostages, so they might assume it's safer to wait longer for more hostages to be released.
The final assault was probably sudden decision since the gunman started to get angry.

Anyways, RIP.

昨晚在家一直睇直播, 一直覺得唔安落.

初初以為事件可以和平解決(當時我仲o係公司), 點知返到屋企就話開鎗喇... 心知不妙. 仲要個逃走左既司機話全車人死哂, 咁即時覺得好無助. 跟住就搞左好耐, d 警察用d 好低科技去嘗試闖入架旅遊巴士, 試左好耐都唔得. 最後就由太平門入, 點知比個鎗手伏擊, 成班差佬即時縮沙... d 差佬就o係車尾放催淚彈, 谷個鎗手去車頭, 之後就有人o係車頭做瓜個鎗手了.

我諗住全車人真係死哂架喇. 點知過左一陣就見到有人仲有能力自己行出來, 頓然感到有希望. 我一直係咁等, 1, 2, 3, 4, 有4個人行到出黎, 跟住其他人就係被抬出黎了.

睇完個心好唔好落.

If they don't have the ability to 強攻, they could at least calm the killer down. The killer didn't show he had the intetion of killing at the early stage.
