this happens at our store from time to time as well.
most of the time, my parents and i'd know.. cuz we know our products
but with our employees... that's a different story la..

so we try to use permanent price tags now~ they're harder to take off..~

what I saw was...them taking products with price tags mysteriously appearing on them...and I've only heard them mention what to do if the cashier questioned. Like I said before, what would probably happen even if I told on them is that they'd be questioned and they'll just act stupid and pretend they didn't know anything.

IF I saw them replace the price tags, I would definitely tell someone..but what I don't have is hard evidence..and no eye-witness to seeing them stick the stickers on either.

I'm not trying to put the blame on the cashier but she definitely didn't take time to notice nor to scan the barcode that was on the shelf. So please don't blame me or put my 良心 on the line because what could I do?

All I can say is that...from what I gather and what I've heard, it is very likely those 2 ladies replaced the tags..but I have no evidence of any sort. And the truth is, their thought-up excuse is quite viable in such a situation..unless someone comes up and pinpoints them to replacing the stickers.

tell me, what would you have done? Would you have walked over to those ladies and told them what you THOUGHT they were doing? Or would you goto a cashier/customer service rep and tell them what you SUSPECT? Even so, do you think they'd get caught?

I'm pretty sure it's not the first them they'd done this..and there were lots of people around too. Unless I have evidence, it's pretty much my word against theirs and they could've easily walked away from the sale and said "Oh, I didn't know. Then I won't buy it"

Or maybe not.  They might have been doing it for quite some time already.  

Someone should notify superstore so they can increase the security.  They are just checking personal bags or shopping bags that were brought into Superstore.  I do believe that's the only store that checked your bags upon entering.

Cashier's ethic aside, consider the amount of customers coming in and out of RCSS in Metro, I wouldn't blame the cashier to let it go because 1) not all of them know about the department discount number on the ticket, 2) not all of them really care, 3) cashier's job is not LP, 4) Sometimes there are cheap deals like that.

RCSS has many undercover LP in busy stores like Marine Drive and Metrotown. Once people successfully does things like that, it won't be long before they will get caught and banned from RCSS for live.

Let's put it this way, when shrink from the store increase, the store will mostly like increase their prices to offset the losses from it.... so we all suffer if somene steals.

In my past days in RCSS, not just Chinese, E. Indian and even white people steals too.... Fortunately, Chinese people is so simple to deal with when they are caught. White and E. Indian on the other hand, always put up a scene and accused the store back. I've rarely seen police involved with Chinese shoplifters.

Yeah, I never want to buy chinese newspaper in superstore. The newspaper never contains all the pages or the bonus magazine inside!

But on the other hand...I don't see the same problem in T&T or Yaohan...

i will tell you what i would have done:

even if i didn't see them do it, i would still walk over, and ask the b!tches in front of the cashier where they got those products for that cheap in which discount rack.... and i will ask the cashier where can i find damaged items for that cheap. then, i will ask customer service to help me do a price check. of course, they won't find that item for that price anyways, so if they paid by credit card, RCSS can back track their receipt records & tace those 2 C9's down. even if they paid cash, at the very least, i will scare the sh!t out of the 2 bitches, and when they leave, i would whisper to them quietly in CANTONESE: "come out to buy stuff, don't be so cheap la. did your husbands not give you enough allowance?"

a lot of C9's are just chickensh!t, all it takes is a little scare, especially from people of their own race. and as for the so-call 正義 people...they are also chickensh!t too. and it's not like the first time i scared somebody @ RCSS anyways... hahahaha
