Doing price-check in places like Metro is just not possible without holding people up. Cashiers won't do price-check unless it is really needed (in my old days).

Just like Jim Patterson, the employees knows that Galen Weston is the 59th richest man in Forbes 2006. How many would really care about the company because they all get raised every 9 months and enjoyed all the benefits regardless of their performances?

ya........ the cashiers just get paid for basic salary. Even you tell the cashiers, they won't care! It has nothing to do with race. People are greedy and selfish in general, regardless of what race they are. The moral of the story is that RCSS needs a better price tag system. For example, they should change the system price instead of putting a sale price label on the product.

I only mentioned that they spoke Cantonese...because if I didn't mention it, I'm sure we'll get comments like "Asian? Must be from China.."..etc etc.. I'm sure it's a personal problem but reporting that they're Asian is just part of the fact.

The thing is, I find there are quite a lot of negative ideas about people from China on this forum..just like the person who gave the licensing officer $200. There was discussion about that she MUST be from China because of her last name. Then lots of people mention about bribery in China..etc etc..

the truth is all I heard was these ladies speak cantonese, were Asian. but I have no idea where they're from. They could be from ANY asian country for all I know. Mentioning ethnicity doesn't necessary mean racism.

RCSS PT employees get paid at least $10 to start + raises every 500-600 hours w/ full benefits after 90 days. They are probably one of the best in the grocery retail business.

You know something was wrong with them even if you didn't see them replace the price tags...if you said something to the cashier in front of them, at least they'll know that others can tell on them and it's not like they can get away with it that easily...
