I don't know about capsules.  If i want a latte, I just go to a local cafe.
Even if you drink a cup every day, the cost is immaterial.

yes capsules, but because we drink almost everyday it is actually wise for us to buy the machine!!!
if i have the $$ of course I will real esp machine!!!
but for the mean time i am happy with Tassimo

Get a stove top express.  I think it costs about $20. Done, no filters/capules to buy ever.
I think the difference interms of taste has  more to do with good coffee bean with a good grinder.  It requires 3min of work, but the process is fun.

i think the brightness is about right
maybe my monitor is calibrated differently from yours

the Farmers Market sign in the background is kind of ugly though
but that's how the sensor is and you just have to accept it
