Why don't you call the labour board and tell us the answer you get?

Meal breaks

32  (1) An employer must ensure

(a) that no employee works more than 5 consecutive hours without a meal break, and

(b) that each meal break lasts at least a 1/2 hour.

(2) An employer who requires an employee to work or be available for work during a meal break must count the meal break as time worked by the employee.

根據(2), 之話只要僱員同意, 佢地可以唔take meal break, right?

I guess people only want to see what they want to see and ignore the rest. Yes, the law says employees are entitled to meal breaks, but it also provides the option for employers to require employees to work through the meal break and it needs to be counted as work time.

How many time do I have to repeat that? The law must allow rooms for adjustment and there are many situations that is necessary for employees to work through their meal breaks (will the employers break the law if they ask you to do so?) If you do not understand that, then I have nothing to say except tell you to call the labour board for confirmation.

i would say 50% (to be fair) of CHINESE EMPLOYERS they would BREAK THE LAW!!!!!!!!!!

I just correct the wrong information someone gave regarding coffee and meal breaks under the current BC employment standard, but not to discuss how many Chinese employers would break the law.

why not? I am happy to have the option to do so. If the law does not allow the employers to do that, then I have to stay half hour longer even though I am willing to work through my meal breaks.
