天水圍買餸貴過灣仔兩成

有「悲情城市」之稱的天水圍廣布基層家庭，但三個團體進行的調查卻發現，天水圍區的物價較鄰區甚至港島區更高，出現窮人被迫買貴貨的現象。調查搜集了天水圍二十個食品及日用品項目，結果整體售價較元朗及灣仔區貴一成三，其中在天水圍購買一斤菜心為十一元八角，較元朗貴三成一，比屯門及灣仔區亦貴兩成一。有學者直指，天水圍的街市被領匯壟斷，因租金高昂而推高物價，令居民難以負擔，完全「係政府一手造成」。

關注綜援檢討聯盟及社區發展陣線等團體於今年一月初，比較二十種包括糧油食品及清潔用品等必需品，分別在天水圍、元朗、屯門及灣仔區共三十八個街市與超級市場的價格。調查發現，在天水圍購買菜心、雞翼、鯇魚及蘋果均較其餘三區為高，其中在天水圍購買一磅雞髀為十五元四角，較元朗貴逾五成，其餘十項食品的價格亦較個別的地區為高。

「政府冷血無情」

居於天水圍多年的阿卿表示，天水圍區六個街市全屬領匯旗下：「以前一斤魚十六蚊，依家要二十四蚊，買餸行成幾粒鐘都買唔到，係因為貴到買唔落手！」她指，曾試過到內地買餸，現為了「慳十蚊八蚊」會踏單車到元朗購物。阿卿直言生活愈來愈難捱：「政府點解咁冷血無情，通脹咁犀利，但竟然唔理我哋、唔關心我哋。」

香港理工大學應用社會科學系講師張超雄批評，政府當年規劃天水圍區，將大部分低收入住戶「推入去」，令天水圍成為全港最貧窮的地區之一，物價之高卻首屈一指，實屬荒謬。他認為，政府應積極打擊通脹，引入競爭法以避免壟斷。

    Sheep.  That is the million dollar question.

Eating habit changes as people make more money.  Kids drink more milk and eat more meat in today's China.  Also free money allows more speculations in raw materials/fuel and more condos/less farmland.

I guess every government is trying to figure out how to deal with these food supplies issues.

Hong Kong economy is definitely better than here.
Toronto is a financial center which is better than here, which is slow.
