Let us not forget the Russo-Japanese war in Manchuria 1904-1905,
Russian lost to Jap big time.
Russian are not any better than Japs. What they done to Chinese
in Manchuria after the Japs surrendered in 1945 was not civilized at all.
The history was forgotten, or a taboo in China.

Prelude

The US and some European countries can create an excuse for an attack on China, that's their usual tactic.  And they can ask Japan to initiate too.

Like they can say China is hiding some terrorists and prepare nuclear bomb to kill millions of people and ask China to let nuclear experts to go in to inspect.   Of course China won't let people to go in.    Then there is an excuse for conflict.

If more than 5 big countries say the same thing, people will believe it.

The US has made many excuses for invading Iraq and now Libya.
What China needs to do is save more gold bullions and build up modern military, more missiles and stealth fighters to deter US forces in Asia, and methods to destroy US satellites.

The US have used their war machine to weaken it's opponent, including China via indirect ways, numerous times already. With one of the latest being Libya where both China and Russia have investments and oil ownership there.

North Korea is a major way the US can stir up conflict directly in Asia. Whether such conflict will scale up to World War III no one knows. But declining countries often do desperate attempts to prevent the next power from reaching it's throne. Even tho it's usually futile attempts, but it's tough to not say that many people often die in such processes...

Hopefully my prediction is incorrect and there will be less and less conflicts going forward... but I am not going to be overly optimistic about this particular scenario...

Prelude

I know one good excuse, US can try to lure North Korea to use some nuclear weapon and do some killing, then bring out evidents that China supports N. Korea financially and sell them weapons.  Then they can call Chinese as supporter for terrorists, and ask for disclose all weapon and financial report.  China refuses, then war.
