i am hsbc customer for 23yrs, and i have premier account since they start this service about >10yrs. all my money go through this account. it build up history, and they serve me good. they give me good rate, even currency conversion they have better rate. wire transfer, bank draft.... all most everything free. .simply a email or phone call . they done it fast.
In reality, I don't have premier account. But I can use that 2.75% line of credit interest rate as a reference. It's because I have a home mortgage loan of 2.95% interest rate with a maturity date of 2011 October. I was thinking about getting a 2.75% line of credit to fully replace the home mortgage loan...
1) I'm not sure if the banks actually allow me to do that
2) I'm not sure when it's come to real calculation, will I gain or will I lose money. I have a feeling that line of credit would contain a fee or a surcharge of something.
Anyways, thanks for all the information. I've open another thread to explore more for that
My dad LOVEd HSBC in HK, and was a loyal customer for 30+ years. Therefore, when we came to Canada, he went to HSBC too. He was pissed off regarding their services. So now all of our family member used Royal Bank instead=)
HSBC doesn't even have the most basic customer services.
I booked an appointment for RRSP, but the AM was a no show. The front desk told us we wait. Still on one is available for another 30min. No follow-up call from the AM to apologize.
Then we called the AM to complaint, and close the acct. He still has the balls to charge cancellation fees.
The new management is not very good to stockholders either.
