my shaw's promo ends this month , worth about $70, should i change
to telus ?, they are offering free hd pvr rental plus a hp laptop on a three year
contract, advice please.
Compare the total cost over the 3 yr contract. As Telus cannot give me the assurance their price will not increase over the contract period. I choose to stay with Shaw for now, but I can switch any time because I am not tied to a contract.
BTW, I have a free rental shaw PVR still and I do not need another PC
Telus is tricky - they offer their promo in terms, that mean they could jack the price up when it is over. The freebies, except the free XBox are really useless. You do get a speed bump in ADSL speed, but Shaw is still faster. Telus telephone support is getting worse and worse.
I still like Shaw, their service is slow but they take responsibility.
Still, I called around these days and Shaw doesn't care anymore if people decide to switch. Your choice.

i wonder if most people will stay with shaw when their promo ends, (most will about this or next month )the price just gone up too much,( mine from $125 to $200, over 70% increased) i tried to call shaw yesterday, waiting time was 2 hours! so i gave up.
guess many people complained .
my shaw internet slows down in the evening, will telus be the same ?
We signed 3 yrs contract with Telus and have been staying with it for almost 2 years from now. The price is remained unchanged since we signed the contract and hope it won't jet-up too much in the future.
We chose Telus because we want to connect 3 TV in different rooms & 2 of the rooms haven't any connection device. Shawn promised to set up but rejected us when they arrived our home. Anyway, the package is approx $125 (after tax) include TV (basic + subscribe Chinese Prog & some channel, like TLC), high speed internet, home phone services, free rental for 2 extra digital box.
I'm not sure whether our package is reasonable but just for your info.
so did you have to pay for a third digital box?
i was told that i can only have two free ones, one with pvr.
i'll have to buy two extra one at $150 each or rent one at $5 a month. (have 4 tv at home)
