I think the Olympic spirit is to accept and allow differences in ppl peacefully. Martin Lee was one of the first few politicians in HK to support HK's handover to China when China first proposed the idea, even earlier than many "shoe shining boys" you see these days. While the Americans may not be the best ppl to talk to, China does indeed have a lot to improve, such as eliminating child labour, ensuring all children get education, basic medication...

dun be naive
everything in the world is related to politics and business opportunities, especially for such big events like Olympic or World cup soccer
spirits, fairness, peace......all those "bullsheet" are just slogans
