Are you growing up in hk? if so, and if you always went to those 大眾化 hk style fast food (old school ones), u shouldn't be that disappointed about the services.
yes old hk style cafe don't charge for tips and cheap but hey, I think (yes, I think, taste are subjective, after all) their food is closest to the taste of my childhood. I always went to those cheap, dirty hk style cafe when I was a kid and 麗都 is the only one that can bring some of my memory back. Many other so-called hk style cafe I have tried in Van are just quasi-hk style cafe. Food, services, decoration, etc.... and most importantly, their hk style milk tea sucks!!!!!!! old and sucks!!!!
if u want better service yet and have SOMEWHAT better quality food, you may like 雅谷/銀座. But, to me, those can't give me the feeling of hk style cafe.....
Please read my first post again. The cashier THREATENED the customer. I don't really care how good their service or food is. If they did this to me, I would have called the police. I will let the police find out how exactly they are not letting me leave the restaurant.
Then why didnt u report to the police?
in your first post, you said something have totally changed? well, their attitude are always this s-h-i-t-ty. Always.
About the tips problem. I suggest you call the police if they really threaten you. If they really threaten you in front of that many customers. That would just cause serious damage to their business. Was the boss their when that thing happen?

Long story short, the cashier asks customers for tips and threatens customers they are not leaving the restaurant if tip is less than 10% of bill.
I keep this short because I just don't want to waste any more of my time on this once famous and legit restaurant. Something has totally changed. For more reviews go to urbanspoon...
