Brake works, good deal?

Budget Brake & Muffler:

PGD465AC pair of brake pads: $88.75
Labor: $84.50
Machine rotors: $67.60
Clean and adjust rear brakes: $16.90

Total: $296.47 after tax.

I think I should had changed the pads myself and than take the bus down to the shop and have them machine the rotor but I am lazy, and it is costly...
So that is kind of fair for the front brake work; however, cleaning and adjusting the rear brakes is kind of a rip off since it relatively easier.

They charged for 2hr work, but done in less than a hour and a half. I think it really doesn't take more than an hour, but I am too much of a pussy to haggle.

So what do you guys think? Money well spent?...

what car is that? for an average car...buying new rotors maybe same price as machining...lol

for that price, u can already get HONDA pads, why bother with jobber pads? as for 67.6 to machine rotors, u can get the most crappy rotors for usually $30ish/pair (won't recommand) and reasonable rotors for about $80/pair to $200/pair...all in all, $152.1 labor + taxes for front brakes, i think u can get a better deal anywhere, and can even get that done at honda (almost)...

as for clean and adjust rear brakes, $16.9 is actually cheap! since they have ripped u off so bad for the front brake works lol

if u want a good deal, u will always find a better deal; thing is, if ur money is well spent, on relatively good work with relatively good parts etc...for the price u paid i think u can almost get much better quality stuff from honda?!

I am no expert, but how I see is:

Unless you are on a tight budget, brakes and tires should not go "cheap". Those are the min. safety you can get to control the car. OE parts guarantee quality. Rotors... if you want slightly better than OE, get Brembo blanks, many people get them and have them slotted. I also heard that the ATE rotors (the one Cdn Tire w/ Star type) is good for those who are on budget too.

Last time, when I took my car to a friend for brake service: flush, machine rear rotors, install new front rotors, all 4 pads, just the labour is $250. I supplied my own parts.... Hawk Pads, Cryo Treated Power Slots rotors about $300...
