it's funny you guys asked about each individual artist to come, how come you don't ask them to come?
Properly they don't like to do charity show which dun make big bucks like other did?
Forget it la! Vancouver market is too small even those heavy super stars can't sell tickets for 2 nights but Toronto! They will loose $ if they come over for 1 night! Even if they open concerts in Vancouver, GM Place close really sharp on time may be 2 encores if u're lucky! I went to Toronto to hear Hacken's concert last Dec. Extremely long (more than 3 hrs with 3 encoures super good deal). That's why all the Big Stars go to Toronto and not Vancouver! Good example Jacky Cheung went to Toronto to sing Dec.19, 07. Also, stars like Jay Chow (last year) and Eason Chan (Feb 08) won't open concerts in Vancouver. Too bad!!
reason that the big stars stopped coming is cuz TVB stopped sponsoring the show... i heard that coming to do this show was one of those criteria that they have to do to win an award from TVB @ the end of the year. since success started producing the show on their own, the quality of the stars have lowered, focussing mainly on the teen idols instead of on singers like hacken or eason.
adding to tin7's answer, when tvb sponsored, the stars get paid for coming now its all volunteer... that's what the MC said the year tvb stop sonsoring
