Any recommendation for a couple day short trip in this time of the season?
By driving, 3-5 days doesn't really matter.
Travelling alone, just want to go 散心.

I think I will go to the highdesert museum, Lloyd center, Woodburn company store and oregan zoo.
And stay in Portland Jantzen beach for one night.
I don't think you will have enough time to do so many stuff, and go to many places, if only two days one night trip.
I went to Portland before x'mas, I left richmond at 9:30am, and got there around 5:30pm. Around 11am went thru the border, and stopped one hour (around 1pm to 2pm) at seattle for lunch, and a bit traffic around Tacoma(it was Friday).
Lloyd Center sucks except Nordstrom. Pioneer Place in downtown is way better. Woodburn company store almost half an hour drive from downtown.

When you go alone, you will have too much time to think. I don't think you could relax.

To be honest, I am getting a divorce and I am really stuggling right now.
I am taking some time off from work to let myself rest a little bit.
My friends don't have the time to go on trip with me so I want to go alone to clear up my mind a little.
I am very sure I won't do anything to harm myself. I just want to do a get away from my normal routine.
I know I will have too much time that I will be thinking but maybe it would help by going out there.
I was actually thinking to go see the northern lights but seems like it's really far that I am scared to drive in this time during the winter.
Is there any place closer in northern BC that can see the northern lights?
