Ferrari involved in police chase on Barnet Highway

http://www.news1130.com/news/loc ... 0090422_235343_8868\
Port Moody Police say an officer on duty saw a red Ferrari turn onto the highway and take off at a very high rate of speed. Police say the car was being driven erratically, weaving in and around other cars, although Constable Bill Kim won't go as far as calling it a chase.

Kim says fortunately no one was injured in the crash.  They're still looking for the Ferrari and the driver.

So who was the one causing the danger? The Ferrari? The Police? or more like both...? If a Ferrari going high speed weaving in traffic is dangerous, what should we call an Impala/Crown Vic going high speed weaving in traffic and aggrevating the car in front? Won't call it as far as a chase? So I guess the police was just 'casually cruising along'?

Maybe some of them really only excel in zapping innocents and stocking up on donuts.... Figuring out the correct courses of actions or figuring out the correct things to say is just beyond some of them....

When police chases left two innocent bystanders dead during a recent four-day period in Hamilton County, the deaths brought renewed urgency to the long controversial question of when -- or even whether -- officers should engage in risky high-speed pursuits.

In one of the fatal accidents, a teen-age driver who allegedly drove away from a gas station without paying for gas later struck and killed a 52-year-old pedestrian while being pursued by a Hamilton County sheriff's deputy in a chase that approached 90 mph.

Although Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis has defended the deputy's actions, others have faulted the decision, arguing that a stolen tank of gas is never worth risking the lives of officers, other drivers, pedestrians or even suspects themselves.

Even before the latest incidents, some police departments, in the tri-state and elsewhere, had begun adopting new pursuit policies aimed at tempering cops' natural instinct to do whatever it takes to catch the bad guys. In Fairfield, for example, a year-old policy is based on the premise that sometimes, it's better for a bad guy to get away, at least temporarily, than to take the risks involved in trying to catch him at all costs.

Is a dangerous driving/excessive speeding ticket worth the risk to innocent road users, the officer him/herself and also the life of the offender? Chasing a Ferrari with a Impala/Crown Vic is laughable anyways.... Almost obvious that if the Ferrari decides to run, the chase won't end until one of the party crashes.... Just a matter of crashing to a light pole or crashing into a pedestran...

So yes, 警察係唔應該追快車嘅. That's why Constable Bill Kim don't dare calling it a 'chase'...

yea right...
i've been chased down by a cop on i-5 at 140mph+

and barnet....  a f car could easily take the highway at 220+ speed at ease, crown vic?  there are too many corners on barnet!
a good driver with a Civic can outrun a crown vic on barnet!

i bet the f car wasnt even driving all that fast....

Hyde, if you need 140mph, go to a racing track.
A highway is for us at normal 110km/h.....

You are rich does not mean that you have special right....

Did you hear the news in HK that there were couple Ferrari accident in HK/China. A rich couple were killed during one of the accident. They are driving a Ferrari at crazy speed too.

i dont need to hear the news, i was there.
they were part of our group traveling to shanghai to watch F1
and the 355 was too slow and tried to catch up to us in front + lack of skills

our group was led by enzo, 575m, e55, F430, our GT3RS, a Cayenne Turbo S and a few others
our average speed was 250+  even the modded Turbo S passed our GT3 at 300+ -__- when my car topped out at 305......
