My wife has been pretty busy so I do not really expect anything.  I bought my own cake and booked restaurants.     I do not really want my wife to buy expensive gift because we feel like I need nothing else.  I did ask her to make me a birthday card which she did.  I am pretty happy about it.  I think one day trip is not a bad idea.

The most important thing is what he wants.  Of course you cannot ask your honey directly.

back to topic, if that SLR is really what he wants, go for it.

Go to the tulip garden and when you get off the car, you surprise him the gift.  Of course you need to open the package and charge the batter first.  He can use that camera right there and then.

But...I cooked dinner everyday (ok...every week day) already...so it's not "special" to cook on birthday as well? Maybe cooked more special food? But if I'm searching recipe and try out for the first time...then he will be the "white mouse" ...
Anyway, I just DIY a card and booked the hotel for the weekend getaway. And did a bit planning la.
