there are a lot of portable air con over $400 with over 9000 btu, but i don't know which one is good.

I have done some online searching. I know haier and delonghi are quite popular. Wondering if any of you has used one before?

You have way to exhaust the super hot air?

IMO it's really not worth spending a few hundred dollars only for a couple days a year....^^;;

I'm the opposite...I think an AC is well worth the price!

Buy one that's at least over 10000 BTU and "bucket free", which means you don't need to discard the water yourself, the water vapor comes out in the exhaust.  Get one that has full feature timer, humidifying function, fan, etc.

I have a Sharp and it has the air purifier too so it's a 2-in-1, not bad.

I have portable-air-con in my office and in my opinion it's not worth it.  Whoever sitting by the Windows where the hot air went out would feel super hot.  The temperature did not go down much.
