You stupid moron, it is the western media that have been claiming, that China's aging population will be a problem for economic development in the future, while India's surging population will allow India to overtake China. I don't totally agree with that point of view, mainly because the western media is clearly touting India against China, out of jealousy of Chinese rapid improvement and in an attempt to bash the Chinese.

We all know why Lik is bashing Hong Kong, because he is just jealous of HK's success.

I do not see anything Lik said that is bashing Hong Kong in this thread.
What he said was kind of truth: which country has the most population does not mean the success for that country. People within that country have to united and start to do learn to not to do things that would make shame of their country.

LOL~
If you have any common sense at all, you can foresee how the One Child Policy is gonna affect every single aspect of life in China. The policy started in the 70's, so assuming that a couple have their kid some time between 25 - 30 (my estimate is already conservative -- actual age should be much younger than that), the oldest generation with a single child is around 60 - 65, with their children being 35 or younger. As they leave the work force and go into retirement, how is society gonna cope with that? Where do you find the expertise to replace their experience? Who is gonna support their retirement? How will the (already flawed) healthcare system accommodate them when these people start losing their health due to old age? Who is the moron when he can't even foresee any of this?

Success? How "successful" has Hong Kong been since the reunification? SARS, avian flu, Asia financial crisis, widespread discontent among citizens, continual shift towards an M-shaped society in terms of wealth with the highest Gini coefficient in the developed world. And I haven't even delved into other more important issues. Do you call this success?!
