I can't eat at 鳳鳴. I react to their brand of MSG used...
I said I ate pho and Taiwanese noodle all the time cos there are no other choices in Richmond.
If I am in bby or Vancouver, I rather have Malaysian, Thai, Korean, Italian, sandwiches, Turkish...etc food.

I see... Since I don't eat spicy food, I don't eat Maylay/Thai that often. And Korean..I sometimes think it's too oily...same as Italian...

It all depends on the scale.  I believe most structures in Lower Mainland can handle a magnitude 8 earthquake without serious structural deform, especially the foundation.

However, in floodplain area like Richmond that locates at low altitude, ground water table plays a crucial role.

Real Italian food isn't really that oily. The authentic pasta has very little sauce/oil to coat them. I hate american style pasta that is drown in sauce.I have to admit that I love spicy hot food. And also food with lots of herbs and that I can't get in Cantonese food.btw I love Indian food too and I think Richmond isn't bad for that.
Anyway back to living area. I still prefer bby because things seem to more diversify.

It depends on which region of Italy you talk about. Some regions of Italy the food is very oily, some are less oily. Thai and Malaysian food can give you odour mouth.

I am now in Burnaby and there are so many C9 and dumb kids along the Kingsway, Metrotown and Crystal Mall too.

As for the earthquake, no one know when and where it will happen.  So, it is just a lottery.... I just don't understand the fact that if there will be an earthquake in BC, does it really matter you are in Richmond or Burnaby? People always confuse that if there are in Burnaby or Vancouver, they are protected. If you are in Richmond, you will be dead.

People who never live in Richmond, Vancouver or Burnaby will be hard to tell which one is better. It is a very personal preferences. my 2 cents..

This is how I look at it la:

What you are saying about the earthquake being a lottery is true, but if the property were mine, I would never have enough guts to place a $300k, $500k, or $1M bet on any lottery. For most people, their homes are the single most valuable asset in their entire life. In the event of an earthquake, houses in Richmond are at least under serious risks of flooding. Repairing flood damage is anything but cheap, not to mention the trouble that is involved. By living on higher grounds (eg. Vancouver, Burnaby), I do not have to live with that risk at all.

Of course, different people have different comfort levels in dealing with risk.

I live/lived in all 3 cities. Actually I briefly lived in Coquitlam as well (1 month in between movings). So I know how it is living in Burnaby.
Well, same as in Richmond now, I avoid Metrotown and Kingsway area on weekends.
btw, earthquake isn't my reason of picking Burnaby.
