House prices are the key factor of the topic, this is why the new generations need to pick Richmond, Surrey, Burnaby, Delta, Coq et etc....

Need to say bye to Vancouver(s) --> Van West, North Van, West Van....LOL

Richmond or Burnaby?

If the house prices are the same and you are not too worry about earthquakes, you need to see whether you love the environment/people/culture/government of the area.

There is no model answer for this. It all depends of your personal preference.

Some people mentioned food is one of the factor...
When you think of Richmond, you will link it to Chinese Food or Asian Food.
As Richmond has 45% of Chinese in its total population, I wonder where the rest of 55% will eat...

Don't tell me all of them just stay at home and eat...haha.

Few friend live in Vancouver, but reasonable close to Burnaby ... (SE part of Van) seems like not bad, not too high house price, and close to everywhere too ..

   There are  still White Spot, Milestone, Cactus Club, Spaghetti Factory,
   Sammy Pepper,  Kegs. Wendy's , Mc Don and Burger King  in Richmond

i.e. chain restaurants. which I try to avoid as much as I can. It's personal choice.

Uncle Tat was wondering what the 55% of non-Chinese residents
would eat.  In term of  unique type of western style restaurants
operated  by Caucasian in Richmond, there are not many.
The Carver Steakhouse and Chop would be alright for Carnivore.
Actually, I would not go to Richmond for non-Asian food.

Compare here ..  everyday, my choice would be ...  KFC, MacDonald, Timmy, Wendy, A&W, Arbby, Pizza etc ..  

Then dinner would be BP, Moxie, plus whatever Italian/Greece/Japanese food ..

Most of the fast food joints on the front part I would not bother.
I eat simple and relatively healthy food cooked at home.Less than 10% meat.

Better now ga la.. eat ~ 3 nights/week at home now ..  but cooking from nanny ... far from good ..
