    I visit my younger bro in Cowtown often,
    the food supply is acceptable, good Chinese food is more expensive.
   Your wife is Malaysian so she is probably a good cook, maybe just  not
   the way you like/grow up with

Well, to be fair, not that bad ..  but ... BAD BAD BAD service .. (or say NO service) and Price..  if you can afford it ..  (not just price, but need RELATIONSHIP for seats/some food)

Unless you go all the way to NE part of Calgary .. but I dont have a bullet proof vest ..

My wife doesn't cook at all!!! but she will treat me dinner ..

    NE Calgary, I think my brother lives there and that's where I stay too.
    Be fair, the Chinese food in Washington State are no good either.
    You have to travel to SF or LA for some acceptable Chinese food south
    of Richmond ,B.C.

Few friend live in Vancouver, but reasonable close to Burnaby ... (SE part of Van) seems like not ba ...

may be it's time to learn to cook!
I am sure you can do better than McD, Arbby, Wendy and Pizza...etc.
Try making simple things like sandwiches, salad and soup first. Then move on to try making other tasty mains.
