Planning to move to Richmond soon.. ^^

Observation to SOME people around me and my parents (from teenagers to mid-agers):
The ones who live in non-Richmond area dislike (yes, dislike) living in Richmond. Also, don't like people who live in Richmond. But I haven't found any of my friends who live in Richmond dislike people in other cities. I am not saying people living in non-Richmond areas are haters. I am just stating some interesting facts that I have seen in these 10+ years

More interesting thing is, I live in Vancouver few years ago and while I was living in Vancouver, I thought living in Richmond is not good for me either

Yes, 100% support.
I have the same feelings..

Most of my non Richmond living friends did mention that they will never live in Richmond because of Chinese, traffic jam and those stupid Chinese mall...

But I always see them shopping and eating in Richmond.
Traffic jam happened in all different areas.

The fact is, population only grows but not reduces, no matter by new born generations or immigrants. People choose certain areas but not some others have their own reasons. But in general, either you can escape from high dense cities and crowded shopping/eating areas, but then you have to stuck on bridges and travel farther away to get home in less busy areas. Good that there are different cities for us to live in and for investment.

One thing I don't like about Richmond is that the road is not grid pattern. Once go inside it's like a maze. I don't like this kind of design... Also...Richmond is too "flat"...it's just ...boring sometimes...

But of course, love to shop/eat there...Nothing I hate about it. But I probably won't choose to live there.

   Agree! Different areas are for people with various life styles and needs. Considerations such as: pets, work, ethnicity, travel time, work, budget, crime rate, convienence, school districts, traffic, noise levels, social, blah blah blah are all very personal. One might have to sacrifice one or a few depending your priority. So it's hard to say which district is better.

yeah, Richmond is good for shopping/eating, but there are ditches along some roads and earthquakes is a worry.
