Vendors in Qingdao, China are selling these sealed keychains with a (temporarily) live goldfish inside. It's just plain wrong and makes me want to punch someone in their ****ing head.

    The fish would survive just a few hours, and would be lucky to make it from the manufacturers to the point of sale. We are shocked and appalled. It is a gimmick and shows no respect for the animals at all.

Jesus, if there's one thing I hate in the world it's animal abusers and pederasts. And whoever is behind this scheme is clearly both. Are there any Geekologie operatives functioning in Qingdao? If so, report back and we'll develop a course of action -- kick assction.

Not sure if they would have any customers at all, unless they want a keychain with a dead fish inside, but small goldfish is sometimes used as feed to bigger fishes. Is that respectful to the goldfish?

i think u suppose to break that pouch and release the fish into yr fish tank after purchase.....

This is bad karma.

Who want a dead gold fish. I suspected this street vendor is making the best use of people's superstitution or kindness. My guess is that they are selling these gold fishes besides a pool or something. When people see such curel thing, some will pay them and rip the bag and release the gold fsh to the pool. Just like the fisherman / hunter catch turtles, birds, small animals for superstitous or "good heart" people to release.
