why is it a joke?
we, air cadets, learn how to fly a plane for free, manage air traffic on the YVR control tower, fire rifle for free, attend parades along side the regular army/RCMP, get paid when ...

let me explain it with a little bit more detail if you didn't understand what i was talking about
ravemother said cadets get to FIRE a rifle for free (meaning you get to fire a gun, but does but not owning a gun)
then you asked if he holds a firearm license (which is only required if the person wants to possess a gun legally)
I was just pointing out what you were asking does not have relevant to what ravemother was saying. Unless you were just asking this question randomly or out of curiousity

Thank you very much for giving out information regarding Firearms Licence. I am sorry my question is too ambiguous to confuse you. Let me rephrase the question like " Do you still practice range shooting or you go haunting ?"
I was also in air cadet, 135 challenger, but that was quite a while ago. Was just an LAC when I left. I did go to a band summer camp.
To clarify, cadets is definitely not for kids to play. Cadets actually don't tolerate much "playing", they are very strict on discipline and sometimes can be harsh. But strict discipline doesn't mean you can't enjoy the activities. I loved going to the wilderness survival camping trips and through that I learned very valuable things irreplaceable from anywhere else. I also went to the summer camp, very strict hours to when you wake up and lights out. Everyone makes their own bed in a very specific way, and it is inspected. We had to march going from one building to another. And morning parade i think more than an hour everyday. I did enjoy my 3 weeks there and it was an important experience for teens to leave the comfort of home for a few weeks. I also got paid $60 a week.
yes, the commanders can be very harsh. They don't make fun of you, but they would definitely yell at you for reasons like why uniform isn't done properly or why you are staring around in the middle of drill training.
I really miss my days in the summer camp. haha, yeah, I remember marching everywhere too, and the hospital corners that were needed to be done on our bunks. Luckily I was only in the basic training camp, or else I would have to stand at attention next to my bunk every morning waiting for inspection
3 weeks? I thought summer camp for band is 6 weeks?
mine was 2 weeks in Albert head
