that's just for the ceremony. not the banquet. the chinese banquet will be separate

umm~ the budget quite tight.. as for $500 - $600~~
so you gonna save the $$ for the dinner banquet?? Maybe you can choose to do the ceremony at the restaurant or hotel before the dinner banquet~

i actually have thought about just hire the commissioner to come to the chinese banquet place and just do it in front of everyone... but i've never seen anyone doing that.... and that will look so weird/cheap??! so instead of so "hon suen" .... then may have to skip........ ....... ........

and yes, the money will be for the dinner.
if skipping that part, then all the money can go towards the dinner portion...  that i've been thinking too

if you are going to have the chinese banquet..i would suggest: arrive at 5pm to the restaurant.. and hire a commissioner.. and use $$ to decorate the restaurant nicely...and do the ceremony at the chinese restaurant to save the $$~ for pics.. you can do it in the afternoon with your frds and families..anywhere u want~

It's not "hon suen" !! no worries~~ just decorate it nicely.. and who cares what those ppl say!! maybe u can do the ceremony in your house too~~ (you can spend that $500 to decorate the restaurant super nice.. then those ppl won't say you are "hon suen" but this is your style mah~~

There are alot of places you can have the ceremony, as long as the commissioner is willing to go there...

You can have it @ home, any hotels, art gallery or even science world (after business hours).

You can book hotel suites for this too...
Sheraton Wall Centre has very nice view
The Metropolitan Hotel have a nice penthouse suite - with access to patio

etc...

It really depends on your budget and how many ppl are attending ^__^!

There are a few side factors you should consider:

Parking
Accessibility
traffic
clean up (decor and where to dispose the garbage)
etc.

the chinese banquet is a must... sometimes a wedding is not "just" about the two people. have to consider what the parents want too. XYZ tables with XYZ menu... <sigh>.........

waaa.. i'm trying to imagine having it in science world. they can turn off the light with the stars as the background above and around .... wa... that would be nice... but maybe too dark for the pictures
