If u do have account with UPS, and have discount, they should not charge that much of fees.

If you want to avoid brokerage fees with most major shipping companies, make sure the declared value of the item is $20 or less. Then they won't charge a brokerage fees unless it's a taxable item like clothes.

Otherwise, your best bet is USPS/Canada Post which charges the least amount

I've heard about this place before, but how does it work? Do I need to notify them before I order stuff and ship there?

My colleague used this place many times.  I was told that before you order, you have to call your Credit Card company and add the Point Roberts Shop as your additional address.  Otherwise, most shops won't ship to an unregistered address.
