Saw this from Mingpao, it's an interesting concept and I think this is good thoughts. Snowboarding is a new sports and is probably not very common/popular in China. So picking kids with Kung Fu background may be a great move to start a team.

中國單板滑雪隊是一支成立於2003年的年輕隊伍，大多由「90後」小將組成，其中許多優秀隊員都是從地方體院武術隊中選拔的，身體靈活，動作仍保留武術的痕，堪稱半支「中國功夫隊」。

曾練過5年武術的劉佳宇在滑雪落地時良好的平衡能力就得益於武術的「站樁」功底，而且有武術訓練協調性、柔韌性作鋪墊，她的騰空動作非常高，已經達到男子的水平，動作間的連接也非常乾凈。

劉佳宇提到，從小就被喜歡武術的奶奶送去習武，差不多刀、槍、劍、戟都摸過了，訓練之餘還會耍段武術來放鬆。

另一勇將孫志鋒亦從98年起在沈陽東陵武術學校習武，被來選人的單板滑雪隊一眼挑中。

組隊僅5年，劉佳宇和孫志鋒便一飛沖天，連連奪得4個世界盃頭銜，勢頭驚人，被中國人寄予冬奧奪金的厚望，但冬季運動管理中心領導在賽前早已冷靜指出，隊伍還很年輕，除孫志鋒外都是第一次出征奧運，年僅18歲的劉佳宇雖然一度排名世界第一，但經驗上還不夠老到，更有希望在2014年大放異彩。

Interesting read, Kung fu snowboarding.  Haha..  劉佳宇 did make it out to the 4th place, just out of podium.

"騰空動作非常高，已經達到男子的水平", maybe the man's lower level.  Look at Shaun White, he is jumping like 20ft above the pipe.  That's like 40ft above the pipe's bottom.  Crazy kid.

Well, obviously the Animal is leading the game but look at all the other boys that trying to catch him.  They are all jumping crazily high too.

Compare to the women's game, it just isn't as entertaining yet.  I'm sure the girls will advance much more in next few years.
