RICHMOND (NEWS1130) - A Vancouver couple has come forward to claim that giant Lotto Max prize. The ticket was bought at the Mac's store at Hemlock and Broadway on Friday.
Claude and Kurt Blanchette-Ebert are now $50 million richer. The two gentlemen, who live in the West End, appeared starstruck when they were presented by the BC Lottery Corporation Tuesday afternoon.
Kurt explains how reacted when he returned to the Mac store to have his ticket read. "I stuck my ticket into this machine and it read $50 million, and the first I said [was] 'Holy s**t!'"
They have both quit their jobs and say they're going to take some time to decide how to spend the money.
The seven winning numbers drawn set the record for the largest ever lottery jackpot in BC history.
