0 CHILLIWACK (NEWS1130) - Terry Fox's mother is battling cancer.

Word has leaked out that Betty Fox is now at a hospice in Chilliwack. A family friend has said her situation is dire, but Betty has been determined in her struggle.

Sources have said because her son's public battle with the disease, her family wanted to keep the news private.

Thirty years ago this month, Terry died of cancer.
