SURREY (NEWS1130) - Surrey RCMP say a woman has been stabbed to death in Newton. They have cordoned off the strip mall at 128 St. and 82 Ave.
The attack happened at the offices of the Sach Di Awaaz newspaper. One man has been arrested and will be charged with murder. "He was taken into custody, and he will be going to court in the morning," says Sgt. Jennifer Pound with I-HIT.
Another man in the office was hurt and is in hospital. Police won't say how the three knew each other.
Harjinder Thind with the Indo-Canadian radio station Red-FM is hearing there was a possible marital dispute between the victim and the suspect.
"She had left her husband. Apparently her husband was very upset. He was suspecting her of infidelity," he says, adding that he's not sure if the woman worked at the newspaper. |
