VICTORIA (NEWS1130) - The premier will head to China and India this fall, promoting BC's Asia-Pacific Gateway agenda. But Christy Clark isn't giving details about her autumn plan to boost the economy and create jobs.
It will revolve around the Asia-Pacific Gateway and Federal Procurement, namely, bringing that lucrative shipbuilding contract to BC.
But that's all she's saying. "You will see the specifics of that when we come out with the full plan in the fall. We're still working on it. We've been working on it for a number of months."
Clark says jobs will be key for her 'Families First' campaign. "The best way to be a good parent is to be able to make sure that you're earning a living and putting food on the table for your kids. So, the creation and protection of jobs in British Columbia is so important to us."
She expects to see things BC has never done before, but NDP leader Adrian Dix says voters shouldn't expect much. "They should be expecting more photo-ops, because that is all she has delivered in her time."
He says Clark was late to jump at the shipbuilding contract and is flip-flopping on issues. Dix says parents today are concerned about whether their children will have a job in Metro Vancouver when they're older. |
