Vancouver Ming Pao is not much better... you get worked like a horse, different higher up say diff things so you don't know who to follow.
For some reporters, you are supposed to finish writing your article even before you come back to work sometimes. You supposed to follow the news on TV when you rest at home and have article ready. Often that's the only way to finish your supposed daily work on the 1am absolute deadline.
When people leave the company, you are supposed to work 2 people's share with same absolute deadline. In other words, if you are not in Chinese journalism for 10 yrs, you won't be able to fulfill their expectation and the chief editor will treat you like ****.
Did I mention the pay is not that good to start with? |
