VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A health scare in a Cloverdale school has claimed the life of a grade 10 student. A 15-year-old boy at Clayton Heights Secondary died suddenly this week after it's believed he became came into contact with Meningococcal bacteria.

A letter has been sent out to all students and staff, warning anyone who was in close contact with the boy to get checked out

Roy Thorpe-Dorward with Fraser Health says there's no need to panic. "There is no health risk to the general public. The death is most likely due to bacterial Meningococcal infection."

Symptoms are similar to very bad case of the flu. Thorpe-Dorward urges anyone who feels worried to visit their doctor.
