VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - First Seattle, then Oakland; there have been clashes at the Occupy protests in cities all over the world. News1130 headed to the Occupy Vancouver site this morning to find out if demonstrators are worried about a police crackdown.

If you wander around the Vancouver Art Gallery, you'd find many people at the tent city are politically-savvy; there's a civic election coming and they hear the tough talk on dismantling the tent city.

One man tells us some people have talked about the possibility of a crackdown. "Be prepared if there is a threat of force or violence from the police, but only as to make sure that no one here gets injured and be able to maintain safety."

He feels mayoral candidate Suzanne Anton is unfairly linking Occupy protesters with Vancouver rioters. "In fact, I do believe that a lot of the people who cleaned up after the riot are actually down here volunteering."

The cold and coming rain seem to be a bigger concern for most.

"That's definitely an issue," he admits. "Everyone's prepared for the cold weather so we don't get people freezing. In fact, there's quite a large number of donations of clothing. In the rain the other night, it was quite an issue because there's a lot of wet people."

He adds most people in the tent city want their message to remain peaceful. Mayor Gregor Robertson has said he'd like the tent city to come to an end soon, but methodically -- without an ultimatum
