The best part:
-The day went by so quickly
-All the guests were so happy
-People cheering on the street and complimenting on our car
The happiest:
- My hubby teared
- Floral arrangements were gorgeous!
- People loved my decor and craft work
Most glad:
-My bridesmaids and brothers, wedding coordinator, etc, had me worried free!
-Designed my own Invitations, gift tags, cake top, made my own wedding favors, center pieces, wine glasses, venue, decorated my own car, made own wine, etc.
Most frustrating:
-Trying to fit everything perfectly (timing wise)
-Parents fussing over our decisions
-Throw things out of planning, spent extra $ and time just to comply with stupid traditions that are senseless
-Trying to put too much work on to myself (bought a home so was moving and wed planning at the same time)
Funny:
-I was so worried that something else was gonna screw up or someone forget to do something. Turned out that during the day, everything was perfect except I was the one who almost tripped on my own dress!
-Forgot to wear sunscreen. Went out photoshooting after ceremony in the AM. Came back with red burns for the reception at night. People were asking why I was so red!
Tips:
- Sunscreen!
- Use or hire a wedding coordinator!
- When booking venue, floral, reception, photographer, etc, ask them for their back up plans, ie: Will use pink roses instead of red if they are not as fresh
- Make your own back up plan. Ie: If it rains...
- Confirm and re-confirm everything at monthly intervals and at least 1 week prior to the big day
- Make a list of things to bring and pack at least 2 days before: ie: extra shoes, make up, oil blotting paper, nylons, tylenol, etc. Trust me, you might think you'd remember but your head will have no room for the little details when the time is close.
Hope that helps.
** btw, I have lots of wedding stuff left over for sale. Let me know if anyone is interested. ** |
