After some considerations, weighing the pros and cons of plasma and LCD. I've finally got the LG 47LM6700. The reasons are simple, weight and power consumption is significantly less than competing plasma set. We are talking about 50-60W on the LCD over 110W on plasma. Since I am mounting it, it is easier to mount/carry 40lb than 60lb.
The LM series are the top-tiers from LG with IPS panels (not advertised), and "limited" edge-lit local dimming, there is really no reason not to get a 2012 model if the price is good. I cannot justified spending $1800+ on a better performing TV at this point, this this will do.
So far, the pic quality is excellent in "Cinema" profile and after calibration, it is even better.
Smart TV works well with all my US based services and I am not complaining.
I know some places may have the LM6400 model for cheap, those are the same unit with black stand/bezel as far as I can tell. Those are good bargain as well.
