there're also the msi wind(this month), hp mininote(already out), gigabyte tablet, dell mini inspiron, etc. etc.

go find computex 08 news.

If msi can keep their price promise, i would choose the msi.

If the Dell mini Inspiron really MSRP at USD $399, I will definitely buy one! it's so cute!
my sister is using a 7" 4GB version EeePC, very lite and nice, we watched about 4 hours downloaded movies on flight!

From this, we can see that all sub-notebooks are ODM by any of these companies:

- Quanta
- Invertec
- Winstron
- Compal

I bet my money that most will be made by Quanta.

I sell MSI whitebook at work. The overall quality is great, except for the wimpy power supply.

Well, the thing is, the keyboard pics we have seen show that the keyboard is... not so intuitive.

Also, I pretty like the Aspire One too.

What do you guys use these small laptops for? The screen is so small so that it is hard to watch a movie or do any word documents.

Because we already have a bigger screen computer.

i have a 7"
it's great and i love the light weight and small size since i gotta travel everywhere for meetings and need it for notes
i run slim down xp and it's still very fast, takes around 15 secs to load up windows

like someone said, the screen is indeed really small so u definitely need a desktop or a full size laptop at home. eee pc is really good just for travel
and i wouldnt watch any movies or anything on it cuz it gets really tiring staring @ the little screen

also, the keyboard's really only fit for ppl with relatively smaller hands, the keys are tight n some of my male frds have a hard time typing...n even if u have small hands but using it long term wouldnt do ur hand/bones any good i dun think.
what i do is simply transfer my documents to my desktop n continue on my work when i get home

so if ur looking for a really portable, small, and relatively cheaper laptop to just use for documents, eee pc's perfect
but if ur looking for something that's for entertainment, then i wouldnt choose it even the 9" is not worth it, just pay a few hundred n u can get a full size
plus the speakers on eee pc sucks...so...not so good to watch movies/listen to music too

PS: battery life's around 3-4 hrs for me, but since i may have really long meetings i always bring my charger with it...just another lb that's all

We have 2 EeePCs at home..got it in HK and upgraded the ram as well. Both have XP installed.

My husband uses his to go online in bed when he is too lazy to go to the computer desk....
I use mine to connect to the TV to use it's VGA out so I can watch my downloaded TV programs on TV

other than these 2 uses...EeePC is really just a small portable device to read documents and go online. I wouldn't even use it for MSN as the keyboard is too small. But hey, it's portable and cheaper than most laptops.

For day to day frequent use, I still go back to my desktop...
