After a fire destroyed "Old Oil Stick" on Kingsway/Victoria, a long haitus ensued but finally a new noodle place called "Fung V" recently opened at the same location.
Food: ordered a beef brisket lo mein. Egg noodles used, not "soap water noodles". Not too fat or too lean, just right.
Portion: below average but a good portion of that is meat.
Interior: nicely decorated, pretty high end for a noodle place.
Price: about average, but slightly high for something on Kingsway.
Verdict: good for a quick meal, but I miss the former "Old Oil Stick" at the same location, especially their corn congee, clear broth beef brisket and egg/beef on fried rice noodles. Gone are all these with the fire. It used to be a vibrant place always crowded with people, but now it became a bit quiet with a significant non-Chinese clientele.
i miss "OLD OIL STICK" too, anyone knows where are they? are they close and not do business anymore? really miss their congee, deep fried wonton, old stick. so sad can't find a good congee store anymore!
