Cordless Phone Sold in Costco can be used in Hong Kong ?
Friends from Hong Kong love the discounted price of home cordless phones sold in Costco but not sure if they are compatible with Hong Kong home phone system. Any suggestion ?
cordless as in "home" use one? (using RJ-12 plug)? If so, then yes, it can be used, with 2 caveats:
(1) I seem to recall that HK uses different phone jacks British type BS6312, unlike north American's RJ12.
for that you may need to fabricate a network cord; or go to Apliu Street to shop for one.
(2) Other than Panasonic's cordless phones (their AC adaptors are auto-adjusted from 100V to 240ACV auto select), all other brands are still on traditional transformer-based type, which may require additional step-down converter (from 220VAC to 120VAC) when used in HK.
