COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) - RCMP in Coquitlam have taped off an area near Como Lake Avenue and North Road after a reported shooting.

RCMP says four men have been arrested and a fifth man who ran off, may be injured. RCMP Corporal, Peter Thiessen, believes police are doing everything possible to combat this violence, but there aren't any easy solutions.
"We as police officers live in the Lower Mainland, we live in these communities too and our famillies are as concerned as every other family around, with what's happening with some of these shootings."
Vancouver Mayor, Gregor Robertson, says he favours a regional police force to deal with an increase in shootings and gang violence. Tomorrow, the Provincial Government will meet with prosecutors mayors and police chiefs to make an announcement on new anti-gang measures.

【明報專訊】「大溫槍擊何時了，市民恐懼知多少？」昨日在本那比與高貴林交界一間房屋懷疑爆發槍戰，兩批槍手由屋後互轟至屋前馬路，本那比、高貴林、滿地寶三市警方合力拘捕4名男子，一人逃去無蹤，暫未知該案有否有人受傷，警方在現場撿獲約20顆彈頭，這是大溫過去12日內第9宗槍擊案，先後已有5人成為槍下亡魂。

昨日發生槍擊的地點是一幢兩層高獨立屋，位於北路(North Road)2400路段，剛與科摩湖路( Como Lake Avenue)交界，亦是本那比與高貴林的交界處。消息稱，案發後槍手逃走時，剛好遇上滿地寶(Port Moody)警隊一哥 Brad Parker與同袍，在他們協助下於高貴林中心捕獲兩人，而另一人懷疑負傷逃去無蹤。

消息稱，案發在昨日下午2時半左右，當時有兩批人士在該肇事房屋相遇，未幾傳出陣陣槍聲，附近住戶報警，警方接報到場調查前，有汽車駛出北路逃走，警方通知附近警員協助截查可疑車輛，而在肇事房屋調查的警員，於屋後撿獲10多顆彈頭，在屋前馬路亦撿獲5或6個彈頭，大批警員封鎖現場調查。

警方在區內追查可疑汽車時，剛好滿地寶警察局長 (Port Moody Police Department Chief)Brad Parker與數名警員在一輛警車上，他們發現一輛懷疑與案有關的偷車，在截停該車調查時，警員追至高貴林中心，在繁忙的商場拘捕兩名疑涉槍擊案的青年，而高貴林警方亦拘捕另2名男子，另一人懷疑負傷逃去。

據發生槍擊案房屋附近的街坊表示，事發時他們先聽到數響槍聲，未幾又傳出連續多響槍聲，接覑聽到有汽車高速駛離現場聲音，其後有近10輛警車到場調查。現場另有消息傳出警方共拘捕了6人，其中一名被捕青年的父親投訴，聲稱其子剛下班回家遭錯誤拘捕。

皇家騎警發言人蒂森(Peter Thiessen)只證實警方拘捕了4名男子，其中兩人是由高貴林騎警拘捕，另兩人是由滿地寶警方拘捕，現時仍在調查他們是否涉及該槍擊案，警方亦在調查該槍擊案是否與幫派有關。
