Speaking of Korean BBQ, I went to Kimchi Nara with my friends a week ago. Not good at all, a bit pricey ($17 each for 8 people) for the quality and quantity of the food. The 8 of us ordered the Royal Banquet (for 6-8) first and planned to order more food later. The set comes with lettuce wrap, deep fried gyoza, seafood pizza, fried vermicelli, a really spicy dish fried with rice cake (can't really remember its name), a pot of ginseng chicken soup, and a plate of BBQ beef ribs.
First, we waited for a long time for the food. They each came separately and we ended up spending 2 hours in the restaurant. Second, my friends ordered lettuce wrap for appetizer when they first got to the restaurant coz they were hungry. It came and there's not enough for 8, so I ordered one more but the waiter/owner said there's one come with the set. It never came but on the bill, they still charged us for an additional lettuce wrap. Third, the ginseng chicken soup had no taste of ginseng nor chicken at all!!! We were looking around in the pot and only found a small chicken stuffed with garlicky sticky rice, a big lump of ginger and green onion. It tasted like MSG clear soup. Finally, the beef ribs...each person only got 2 tiny pieces. We decided to get our bill and went to Yaohan's food court instead.
Have any LYK tried this restaurant before? Or did it just happen to be bad this time? There were lots of customers when we were there and the restaurant was full...I wonder why...
