I was thinking about getting a ps3 tim........

Pretty much everything tax free, LCD TV and PS3, I think tax free day is the best day to buy stuffs that other than food because we don't really pay tax for most of the foods anyways.

are you sure you saw a PS3 with a "this item is tax free" label sticked on it? because I couldn't even find a single box of PS3 in superstore

slim is new

probably not

I just came back from superstore
yes I think many electronics are tax free too
I got a ps3 game saved the tax, woohoo~

and I asked for the ps3
but the girl told me they didn't have it, neither the slim or the fat
I guess it's either they really don't have it or they didn't want to let me know lol

anyway, went to bestbuy to pick up my ps3 afterward....lol

No way... we just hired 3 more employees.... and i also saw the transit police ad..... are you sure you are trying hard enough?

i  really apply extremely hard
i have all my information in my resume...........

you do not need "all" your information on your resume... just "related" information on your resume (related to the job you apply for...)

i did............
i have phone, email. address, on my resume
i surely did not receive any calls
however, i received so many marking survey calls

maybe you can ask your friends for their resumes so that you can have a better idea of how to make yours better looking

for mine, when I was applying for a position in a lab, I have the following sections in my resume:

name, contact information, email

Objective: to apply for what

highlights of qualifications: what's so good about you (how good you can work)

technical skills: what can you do (this section is not very necessary if you are just applying for a random part time job)

Education: where did you go to school, when did you graduate, what did you study (again, not necessary if you are not applying for any position that requires some specific kind of education)

Previous work experience: list the most revelant experience first, skip this section if you do not have any past working experience

volunteering experience: kind of like a backup to people who doesn't have work experience

hobbies/interests: not necessary

references: not necessary unless the employer asks you for one or two. but it's good to have some reference people that you can provide

-------------------------

so this is how I built up my resume.....
I had only 1 page when I was applying for my first job. Now it got expanded to 3 pages

i don't have friends, doyou get it?
i don't have references for employees to contacts

i dont' have much skills+educations

a resume is just the product of an effort of BS

you need to put some EFFORT to sell yourself, dude

what I see right now is that you are just sitting at home doing nothing, not even trying hard to find a job and complaining you have no skill and education

even some china immigrants who can't speak english + poor education can find a job in Canada, so what's so hard to find a job if you are willing to put in the effort?

what dude
i got my resume
i sent my resumes to companies

i can't find a job, nothing i can do

you still don't get what I mean....
I am saying, you need to put more effort to make your resume look good

if I am the employer, and I have two resume in front of me
both of them do not have working experience
if I am to choose between these two, who would I pick?
I would definitely choose the one who has a better looking resume

I have seen some resume of my friend which was so bad and made me O咀

what kind of job are you looking for exactly? you have never mention what do you want to do

but I am so sure that Starbucks, McDonalds, T&T, and Daiso are always hiring

i really want to work something which i'm able to learn something
work the way up to the highest position

Because they have connections? (social networking, nepotism,

Getting a job in Canada is about who you know, NEVER about what you know.

I do not agree.....
at least for sure in the company that I work at
yes it's easier if you know someone, but doesn't mean if you don't know anyone you would never have a chance

for my first 3 part time jobs, I did not have connection with anyone in the workplace
I just got it

every single job has something to learn
it's not only about aquiring skills from a job
but it's also about learning to communicate, to work as a team effectively/work independently, and many other lessons that you cannot learn at school

you also need to be realistic here
not everyone is so lucky to have a first job that is something that he/she wants to do, including me
but it is a lot more helpful to have some kind of working experience to back you up
my first 3 jobs was just my 踏腳石 that had nothing related to my study, but they helped me to gain experience

i know that not al the jobs you can learn
but if you have a job, you at least you have something you really like.....or a skill from your job

i'm really realistic here, i can't find a job, still the economy is still bad to us?
i'm not looking for the job which i want to do
i apply warehouse, office, delivery, inventories,....data entry,..etcs
still that i don't have any calls from companies

i don't gain much experiences from my first few jobs

I partly agree ...

You don't need to know anyone in McDonald's, Starbucks, Safeway to work there.

Safeway is always hiring people for $8.50 an hour (no chance to get wage increase for years).  And ...

yeah....
as long as being realistic and not picky
I don't see how it is so hard to find a job

I worked at min wage before too, at T&T and Daiso
it was very little money, but at least it was a start for me

tiffiant 發表於 2009-9-12 22:52

yet you say you are realistic
you are not

with no working experince you expect to get $10/hr?
I am not saying there's no entry level job that pays $10/hr
but I would say starting from min wage is always the easiest to begin with, just that you refuse to give it a try

8.5/9
can support my daily expenses?

why don't you cut down your expenses when you are saying you have no money
