If you intend to work in Canada,  CPA is not useful.  There are accounting designations for you to pursue and you should do some research. (e.g. CGA, CMA)

If your intention is to ultimately go back to HK, then you should see if you meet the HKICPA requirements.

I forget if the software will expire or not.
I took it in Washington States
The course will only give you a summary and area to foucs. If you don't have've the basic knowledge, it's very hard to follow.
I don't think you've to take all 4 exams in one go now.

I don't think you can do so with a CGA

They don't really require a degree to take the CPA exam. BUT, most of the States need 150 credits, which is more than a Bachelor degree reqirement.

You don't really need a HK designation if you're not working in public practice. CGA is a recognized designation but need more steps (more exams) if you would like to convert to HKCPA

As far as I know, CGA doesn't require University degree; where as CA requires U degree. So it sounds more "higher grade"?

I think as with any other accreditation you want the most prestigious and most exclusive credential that applies to the broadest range of positions.

That has changed already. As far as I know, a few years ago, CGA started to require that all students need to possess a degree before they can get the CGA. They don't need a degree when they join the program, but they need a degree by the time they apply for the CGA designation.

A degree does not matter since anybody can get a degree.  It's the amount of rigor and caliber involved that distinguishes one from the other.

BTW.. CGA does require bachelor degree.  After CGA, you can get the HK ACCA destination by taking 1 or 2 more courses and a MC exam.

They've a form with a couple pages of work experience required. Make sure u've it all. You need a sponsor (any CPA in US) to sign it for you.

CGA requires a Degree now. if you don't have it while enrolling, you need to finish their degree program

"CPA is the easiest to get.... but it's totally no use in Canada."

which one is the easiest, hard to say.  because cpa needs you to write 4 exams in two days and the min passing mark is 75%.  cga just need you to complete all courses.  so just depends on do you want to takes # of small exams, or just four big ones.  i will say cpa is more difficult, because you need to remember so much info. at once.

yes, cga requries a degree for licensing.  but they are partner with few universities which offer special(2year???) programs for cga students.  my friend said it is much easier than you complete a ba at a regular university

cpa & ca has an agreement, cpa  can become a ca by taking a MC? exam.
