We bought a new home last yr and shopped at every furniture store you can imagine!
Whatever you do, don't shop at Color of living in Aberdeen center. We got our coffee table fr. there. we don't put anything on it. And it broke after 1 yr! The quality is so poor and it was very expensive! They claimed that the stuff is fr. Europe and Canadian made but I think they are fr. China coz of the quality! Still so made about it! Honestly, if it was cheaper then I'd not expect it to last long but since it was expensive, I feel ripped off!

Please do not make the assumption it is from China or it is their fault. The Chinese are capable of making high quality products like computers, high class fashion and telecommunication products etc. It is possible that you were ripped off by greedy merchants. They paid the manufacturer a low price and then sold it to you at high price. So the product was designed to be low quality. This does not mean the Chinese cannot make high class products. You just forgot to check the quality of the product before you bought it.

The Chinese are now dominating the world furniture market from cheap to expensive high quality furniture. You just have to make sure you get what you paid for. But to equate China with low quality is not correct.

You cannot just deny the fact that there are still many China people made low cost and quality goods or fake goods just to make profits, man. Recently they even made fake Chinese medicine according to news.

You smartie, in this case zuesel was probably ripped of by that greedy furniture store in Aberdeen. I don't know if that Aberdeen store provides any warranty on furniture.

風穴來風，老實講，中國好多出口產品有問題就包括西人都懂得。或許目前中國乜都好，但什麼大頭奶粉，頭髮醬油等等等等等等等。。。都係好近期嘅野。我的茶几更是一個好例子，就連個SALES都不敢說 MADE IN CHINA！

You get what you paid for, regardless of where it is made. Normally, the quality is directly proportional to the price.
For example, there are so many made in China clothings. The Chinese now dominate the clothings market from cheap brands to high quality expensive brands, many are made in China.

From iphone to mac book pros, laptops, printers, routers, many are made in China.
From Walmart to Macys to Nordstrom, you can find made in Chinese products.

Chinese brand name like TCL, Skyworth and Konka make LED TVs for Samsung and Sony.

I do agree many "higher brands" items are made in China now, including Tourbillon watches, and some "Suen G" funitures ...

However, the reason why they are made in China, because of the COST .. not because they are better.

Some of my friends are in the TOYS business, and yes, almost 90% Japanese brands toys are made in China, not Made in Japan anymore, (or thailand etc) but not because made in China toys are better then made in Japan Toys, just because they are cheaper, and there are way more people to do it.

I use Made in China "speakers" as well, components/units from Danmark, crossover/wiring from USA, and the wood cabin, of course from China, and the assembled in China..... so instead of $7K for same speakers, with a BRITISH BRAND logo on it, it only costs $2K. (even a pair of Made in UK/Danmark speaker, their sound cabins are mostly from China anyway)

Again, we know most of the products we are using now, are made in CHINA, but we have no choice. ( or say, we are not rich enough to have the choice )

Just my 2 cents.

Our sofa was designed by Normand Couture, a Canadian from Quebec. I never has a piece of furniture that was signed and numbered before.

ScanDesign carried this series about 2 years ago. Also another sofa store on United Blvd used to have it too.

Thank you Nam!

Our sofa is called Cameleon from the original designer who is now dead. You can find the knock-off from Scan design and other furniture stores which is named: Jelly Bean due to copyrights of the original designer.

I ended up getting another sofa at Scan Design.
Very good deal! Leather sofa plus 2 ottaman, 3 leather bar stools only 2500.

wow! thats excellent! we paid almost just as much for a bar table and 2 bar chairs fr them!! we are not very good at bargaining :p
