My heart breaks whenever I hear the cracking sound.  Not just die-cutting, even when embossing too.

Yes there are different box dies sizes for all the flavor boxes.
However, I bought the smallest one only.
For the patterns, orginally for the box die, it didn't have any patterns at all.
The patterns that Rainy did was embossed seperately.
P.S. If C Fu you need the box dies too, just let me know I can lend it to you too!

thx a lot...
i don't mind buying as long as it won't take up too much space. btw, what's a box die?

I think all i need is some demonstration to decide what i need to buy.
i want to mainly use them for packaging gifts and craft pieces for selling.
i wonder if there are actually transparent ones you can buy to make into boxes...like a box folding machine or for cutting out the layout and fold myself...

hehehe, not familiar with the world of scrapbooking, etc.
作者: tobiko    時間: 2009-12-6 20:26

Rainy, what is the 'combination' in order to use this pillow box die?  Do you need extra mats or only the plates from cuttlebug will do?
作者: Rainy    時間: 2009-12-6 21:19

Tobiko,
Step 1:
B plate at the bottom, then sizzix die cut, card stock, B plate at the top
Step 2:
take out the cardstock that's cut, put in the cuttlebug folder
Step 3:
A plate at the bottom, folder, B plate at the top

C fu:
If you want to make transparent ones, you just have to buy the transparency papers as your cardstocks instead of paper paper. I think the die cuts not only can cut fabric, the transparency as well

Same here.  I'm using the boxes for my crafts.
That's why I bought the box dies.  It's way cheaper than ordering those boxes from HK.

needing you girls' expertise here...
other than pillow boxes, are there any other boxes that can be made easily just like the pillow boxes?
What is the pillow machine called and how much are they? where can i get them? are there usually 2nd hand ones available?
thanks for the info! ^_^
作者: 草莓妹妹    時間: 2009-12-11 17:31

Yes, other than the pillow boxes, there are different kinds of boxes.
For instance, there's this take-out box, match boxes, handbag shaped box, cube box, scallop lid box, etc.
You can either use the Cuttlebug machine or the Big-shot machine.
You can get them online from ebay for 2nd hand ones.
Or sometimes some scrapbooking sites will have some promos for new ones.

For new ones, the cuttlebug machine in Michaels is $99.99.  But you can use their 50% coupon for it.  So it's like $49.99 before tax.  If you're stopping by US's Michaels, u should buy it from there.  The price is cheaper and the tax is lesser.

For the Big-shot machine, they don't sell it in Michaels.  I bought my from the Scrapbooking Warehouse in Oak Street while they were on sale.  It was $149.99 with lots of accessories and templates.

Personally, I have both machines.  But if you're making boxes, I'll prefer using the Big-shot.
Cuz most of the box dies are all XL long sizes.  And all of them are part of the Big-shot's accessories.

Hope C Fu, you understand what I meant.

looks like there's a sale at Joanna's in Usa. I want to get the box cutting machine...i guess big shot? do we need to get the pillow box die too. But are the dies easily available anywhere?

the big shot is around $60 USD is it a good pricing?

I also see cutter bug on sale too. which one should i get?
I actually want to make smaller boxes for my miniatures. Do the dies come in smaller sizes of pillow or other boxes?

Here's the link to these items. appreciate your opinion before the sale ends. thx!
作者: fibbi    時間: 2009-12-17 00:44

I would say get the big shot, it's "bigger" than the cuttle bug so you can cut bigger size boxes or paper craft.
$60 is good! My cuttle bug costs about that price la!
作者: zuesel    時間: 2009-12-17 08:55

Thanks fibbi. I want to get it but before i do, i want to know if they have other smaller sizes of boxes dies. So far, i only find the pillow box jar...

anyway, for the dies. are they available in canada?

thx strawberry sis.
what are some of the box dies that you have besides the smallest pillow size one?
I will most likely use transparentcy to make boxes ar.

I plan to get the big shot machine but want to know if I should get the cutting pads as extra and what other accessories I would need?
