this is gross income only.  They need to pay other expenses and salaries to their staff.

to be honest ... as long as he performs good diagnosis and make good judgment calls ... I don't care if they make too much $.

You will be surprised how many GPs out there that can't do that.

how about dentist and lawyers? do they need to disclose their income like this?

wow, there are a few of them made over $1,000,000!!

Note that medical cost expenditure went up 6% compared to an only 1.5% increase in premium.  No wonder they have to increase your MSP premium.

"Service costs do not include bad debt expense arising from the Plan premiums that could not be collected, commissions paid for collection of overdue accounts or administrative expenses. Bad debt expense and commissions paid are charged to the Province's Consolidated Revenue Fund, Vote 49 — Allowances for Doubtful Revenue Accounts and Vote 48 – Commissions on Collection of Public Funds, Administrative expenses incurred by the Plan are funded by the Ministry of Health Services."

Nice, so that probably means another 10%-15% in addition to the published cost.

Those with general revenue above $1M should be surgical specialists.

If you think you are already paying too much taxes, wait for another 20 years.  A significantly older population supported by a smaller young working population.  Unless things change dramatically, you are looking to pay over 70% of your income to the government.

Numbers are underestimated because some these doctors/physians/speacialists
could have private practices, where their main incomes come from.

Well....actually.... does it really matter how much doctor made? Same as...does it matter how much lawyer made, how much our friends made.....?
Doctor made more....they "invest" more time in education...and it's not easy to become a "doctor" anyway...

It really matters, I know a young man from Mainland China. He finish a dip in BCIT and he tells me he wans to became a doctor because it makes money.
He knows that you can just get a whatever degree and go to medical school.

Because one is lucky and one isn't.

Why were some people born missing an arm?  Why do some people have wealthy parents while others grew up in slums?

If you think it is about luck, you should not do anything in life.

This is a world in which the winner takes all.

And for every group of people who are equally bright and work equally hard, there can still be only a few winners.
